Bicycling Magazine launches heroic 'Twaalfstedentocht'

Iconic, heroic, and legendary. The 'Elfstedentocht' captivates the imagination in every way. In those footsteps - with stamp card and all - Bicycling Magazine embarks on the Twaalfstedentocht. A monumental route of 937 kilometers and 2270 meters of elevation gain, passing through all 12 members of their Bicycling Club. If you have completed your stamp card, you will receive a Koersplaat Rideposter as a reward.

The Route

The route takes you from Spaak in Groningen via Vanmark in Joure to De Mechanieker in Zwolle. Then it's off to De Proloog on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, followed by a loop through the Randstad, passing by Allizi in Bussum, Kaptein in Amsterdam, Balk in Nieuw-Vennep, Raas in Leiden, and Fausto in Schoonhoven. Taking a dive down south, you'll make a stop at De Cyklist in Eindhoven before riding all the way to Valkenburg for Fixed Gear Coffee. Between Valkenburg and the final destination of Groningen, there's only one more pit stop, at Wielerstudio in Enschede.
